About the data
CMB: ESA/Planck Collaboration, 2018 release (PR3). SMICA nosz component-separated temperature map (inpainted column, in µKCMB), and the 143 GHz (HFI) and 30 GHz (LFI) frequency maps, resampled from HEALPix (Nside 2048/1024) to galactic equirectangular textures. The monopole (2.7255 K) and the dipole are not shown; the colours are the tiny ±100 µK anisotropies. Raw frequency maps are shown on an arcsinh scale so the Milky Way does not wash out the CMB.

Stars & constellations: Hipparcos-based catalogue and IAU constellation lines from d3-celestial (BSD-3, O. Frohn). Positions are J2000, precessed to the date shown; no nutation, aberration or atmospheric refraction.
